The Associate of Science in Nursing degree program at American National University prepares students to provide quality patient care in a variety of health care settings. Our technology-based coursework applies the most current nursing trends, providing students with the education and credentials highly sought by health care providers. We offer a flexible nursing associate’s degree. Our classes are designed for working adults to earn their nursing degree. 

Students in this program will gain an understanding of nutrition, pharmacology, communication, human development, and more. Students will also learn about giving compassionate care to their patients and the ethical and legal standards in registered nursing as required by Kentucky state and federal laws.

Students successfully completing this program are eligible to sit for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEXRN) leading to licensure as a registered nurse.

Nursing graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX-RN exam offered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN).
There are a number of entry requirements for the Nursing Associate’s program including vaccinations for clinicals. Please refer to the latest KY Student Catalog for these details.

Accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). ABHES is recognized by the United States Secretary of Education for the accreditation of private, postsecondary institutions in the United States offering predominantly allied health education programs.

 

Scholarships & Financial Aid

We recognize that many students need some type of financial assistance in order to make this investment in their future. Our Financial Services Team will sit down with prospective students to identify sources of financial assistance; some through the federal or state government and others through the University. We are committed to finding solutions for those who qualify.

 

Transfer Credits

We accept undergraduate transfer credits for your prior learning and professional, military, and volunteer experience. An undergraduate student must complete the last 25% of a degree program at ANU in order to graduate. That means you can transfer in up to 72 quarter credit hours can be transferred for an Associate’s degree.

Lab equipment is sent to your home so that you can learn hands-on the techniques and skills necessary to become a Registered Nurse.

The support team behind each student (Academic Advisors, Deans, Faculty, Financial Aid, and Career Services) see each person as an individual and not as a number.
