Transfer credits toward a US degree program
At American National University, we accept undergraduate transfer credits for your prior learning and professional, military, and volunteer experience. An undergraduate student must complete the last 25% of a degree program at ANU in order to graduate. That means up to 72 quarter credit hours can be transferred for an Associate’s degree or up to 132 quarter credit hours for a Bachelor’s degree. A graduate student must complete 50% at ANU in order to graduate and can transfer up to 28 quarter credit hours.
Work while Studying in the US
Many of our programs require practical training in the form of a practicum, which consists of actual work experience.
- Curriculum Practical Training (CPT) is for students who are currently studying in their degree program. CPT is available to International students on the first day of their program since CPT satisfies the practicum requirements in the academic program.
- Optional Practical Training (OPT) occurs after graduation and is limited to 12 months; 24 month extension is available for STEM fields. (STEM = Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math degrees)
