How it works

Built for people already juggling a full life.

1

Flexible, structured delivery

PN and ASN programs run in a blended format — live virtual classes and self-paced online coursework, with limited on-campus time. The BSN program is full distance for coursework, with in-person clinical hours. Hands-on simulation gear, including VR headsets.
2

Real clinical experience

Clinical training runs through skills labs, simulation sessions, and direct client care in hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and community health centers — supervised by a clinical instructor or preceptor. Hours and site assignments vary by program. American National will help place students in a clinical site, some travel may be required.
Where these programs lead

Common questions

Frequently asked questions.

Is American National University accredited? Yes — American National University is institutionally accredited by DEAC (the Distance Education Accrediting Commission), and its nursing programs carry the required state board of nursing approvals in the states where they’re offered.
Can I keep working while I’m in school? Most coursework is built for working adults, delivered through live virtual classes and self-paced online work. Clinical and externship hours, though, run on a fixed schedule set by the placement site, so plan around those blocks specifically.
What technology will I need? Students should be comfortable using a web browser, a word processor, and managing files. Simulation equipment, including a VR headset where applicable, is provided to you. Reliable broadband, a compatible computer, webcam, microphone, software, and a suitable study environment are required.
What does tuition include? Programs use an all-inclusive tuition model covering textbooks, lab and simulation equipment, and your NCLEX exam fee. Exact pricing depends on your program and state — admissions can walk you through current rates.
How long does it take to finish? It depends on the program — for example, the BSN can be completed in as little as three years. Program length varies by track and enrollment date.
What if I can’t afford a laptop or home internet? American National University can help eligible students explore available technology resources, equipment options, community programs, and discounted internet services. Speak with an admissions representative about current resources before enrolling.
